"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh

Where I live, in the SoCal high desert, GPS, Google Maps, Apple Maps, Whatevermap app, are not reliable at all, and will most likely send you down a dirt road that was washed out years ago. Or worse, down a road where some genuine dickhead has thrown a fence across the road (a marked county road!) and is damned pissed off, demanding to know what you're doing on "his property".
The old Thomas Guide map books are more accurate.
FWIW, when I need to find a property out in the rural parts (what we California natives used to call "the tulees"), I print off zoomed-in satellite images of the neighborhood so I know exactly where it is, and which roads actually exist in reality, rather than just on a map (or computer program).
