A 1960 Dodge Dart.

That's purty. CAFE standards screwed Mopar. Before 72 they had big blocks in some beautiful, huge, 2 1/2-tons of Detroit steel, cars, after they had 4 bangers in sheet metal crap.
So, so true. Old Paco had a late 50s De Soto (confiscated from some bootlegger) that he drove as his official government car for awhile. HEMI engine, the works. Plus it was bright red with a white roof, as I recall.
About 10 years ago Skeeter Junior, born in 1960, was the proud owner of a 1960 Dodge Phoenix. It was shocking pink with a white roof and certainly looked like a bootlegger's (or worse) car to us. The Phoenix was produced by Chrysler Australia from 1960 to 1972 and was introduced as an Australian assembled version of the American Dodge Dart. Maybe Junior should have kept it a bit longer. I see there's a bright red one advertised today for AU$30,000, which is about 5 times what he sold his for back then.

Yeah, the Phoenix was the premier of three models of Dart introduced in 1960. I'd sure love to have one (even pink and white!).
