I don't recall seeing reports of this major advance in beer can technology when I was young, but I do remember when they came out with ring tabs, making the can opener (for beer, anyway) obsolete.
JeffS: One of my favorite gun channel guys, George Jones, has a whole video showing the history and use of various can openers. Turned out to be quite interesting.
Yes, that's an interesting video indeed. I didn't know about the British can opener, I am happy to say. I much prefer my P38 or P51. Or my Swiss Army knife.

ReplyDeleteI've had to coach the younger generation on how to use can openers, both the beer/soda can and pocket knife versions.
