"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh

ReplyDeleteYeah, poorly.
Why weren't the Israeli Nazi hunters waiting at the prison gates when von Shirach was released?
ReplyDeleteA lot of well heeled Western leftists just knew that "democracy" was doomed and incapable of competing with the new, scientific centralized state. Their only question was, which form would the new inevitable superior centralized state take, fascism or communism?
ReplyDeleteFortunately for them, Barbarossa was a defining moment. It allowed the ideology competing with communism to be recategorized as "right wing" and thus discarded. A few found themselves on the "wrong" side of that debate, like this hapless clown.
He was just a few decades ahead of his time.
ReplyDeleteIf he was alive later, he'd be head of the FBI.
He'd sure be on somebody's short list for head of the FBI.
