That's strange

Do black people have longer legs? Or more than two?

"President Biden was roundly ridiculed for an announcement about his administration’s plan to combat 'junk fees' which included addressing charges for extra legroom on airplanes, something he suggested is racist."

  1. Travelling window seat on a public bus in India there was just no room for my thighs, the seats were set close together for locals. One sat next to me and jammed in so tight he cut off my circulation, angry little dude. So I happily stood up in the aisle holding the roof bars. It was more comfortable - they drive so fast they go airborn over bumps anyway. But the angry guy was offended now - some cultures are kind of autistic. I put them at ease by smiling and showing I'm enjoying it.

I've no idea what Biden means though.

  2. I had to ride a bus once from Washington, D.C. to Richmond, VA (Amtrak's service was down between the two cities due to flooding, as I recall), and it was cramped as could be. But the real torture was that the guy sitting next to me on the aisle (I had the window seat) was talking to a woman in the aisle seat across from him. They were both lawyers and talked shop for almost three hours, non-stop. Nearly drove me batty. It was getting dark when we got on the road, the feeble overhead light didn't really give me sufficient light to read by, and I couldn't doze because these two talkative types insisted on gassing on about, I don't know, socage in fief or tenancy in commons or something.

  3. I guess charging for extra leg room is racist because, as we all know, black folks couldn't afford to pay those extra charges, or even afford to ride in planes, unless they put in a whole lot of overtime in the cotton fields, doncha know.

  4. Hasn't Uncle Joe heard that Wakandans invented anti-gravity?

Reminds me of a New Zealand anecdote I heard 40 yrs ago. NZ is very mountainous and some drivers used to switch off their motor and coast downhill to save petrol. This was called 'Maori Overdrive'.
