Presumably: "Sen. John Cornyn explains how Democrats forced him into voting for a bad spending bill".
Hmm. Where have I heard this logic before?

I’d rather see Flip Wilson in the Senate. At least we’d have a reason to laugh.
ReplyDeleteCornyn is just another mediocre Republican who let the Democrats outmaneuver him. They're good at that. Unfortunately, the Republicans don't seem to learn from them. Trump was able to in most cases, and that's why they're so terrified of him winning the presidency again.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused. Would the LGBTQRST brigade celebrate Flip Wilson for playing Geraldine in his act, or vilify him for playing Geraldine in his act? Or, more likely, half of them celebrate, and the other half vilify him until they are told which it should be.
ReplyDeleteIt's so confusing I think it's easier to not care what they think.
He wasn't outmaneuvered, his job is to Act Concerned and View With Alarm then screw us.
ReplyDeleteLifetime Senate seats make for bad senators, they identify with Their Good Friends Across The Aisle instead of with their constituents as they work their scams.

ReplyDeleteOh, absolutely. I am reminded of a riff by some wag I don't recall on one of Edmund Burke's famous quotes: All that is needed for evil to triumph is for Congress to do something (original Burke: All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing).
