This is not actually news; Illinois has long been the Land(fill) of Lincoln, and practically the Mother of Political Corruption for almost a hundred years.
Soaring unemployment, sky-rocketing debt and punishing taxes send residents fleeing.
And a significant number, like me, that would like to flee but are not in a position to do it. I'm too old and tired, poorly funded, and at least live in a part of the state that isn't totally godforsaken. Yet.
