I think, prior to the election, I'm also going to acquire the early Continental Navy jack (with the "Don't Tread on Me" snake) or maybe the "Appeal to Heaven" flag.
"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Remember in the days after 9/11 leftists made a big show of displaying the US flag, saying they were "reclaiming" it from the right? Which struck me as odd... nobody on the right had claimed it exclusively, so far as I know. We simply refrained from shredding, burning, trampling, urinating or defecating on it.
ReplyDeleteAnd after about two weeks the lefties were looking up and down the street, frustrated, asking 'Just how long are we supposed to be flying this racist symbol of oppression anyway?"
Way to reclaim that flag, guys!
Anyway, it is still legal under the First Amendment to desecrate the US flag. Unlike, say, the pride flag, doing so will land you in jail.
Every time I see a Democrat politician with an American flag pin on his or her lapel, it makes my blood boil. I do not support their version of America, and I hate to see them coopt the symbols of patriotism. Their sincerity and authenticity are on a par with Schumer standing in front of a grill with a spatula in his hand, smiling over a raw hamburger patty covered with a piece of cheese.
ReplyDeleteHoist the colors, sir!
