"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
While in some parts of the US the ultimate snack is an RC and a Moon Pie, in high school a friend and I fueled our weekends with RC and peanut M&Ms.
ReplyDeleteNot having any real social life we'd stay up late watching cheesy monster and SF movies (usually sponsored by a local car dealer), building ship models and consuming the aforementioned delicacies.
I don't think I've had more than a half dozen bottles of RC in my life. This was Pepsi & Coke country, and I didn't like Coke, so mainly drank Pepsi.
ReplyDeleteBut the best soft drink ever was a big frosty glass mug of A&W root beer from the local A&W drive-up!
Same over here, rindardman. Coke or Pepsi. Royal Crown arrived in Australia in the early 70s but didn't make much impact.
DeleteBonus fun fact: Royal Crown is still manufactured here, but not commercially available. It all goes from the factory in Queensland to New Zealand. Go figure!
