$16.99 Wranglers from Walmart may not last as long as Levis 505s, but $50-$70? Seriously?
The company wanted concessions from their US workers in order to "stay competitive with foreign-made clothing", but still shut down their CA factory, moved production to places like Egypt and Bangladesh, and jacked up their prices anyway. This American "icon" continues to flip the bird at working class and middle class America, who they depend on for their business.
I haven't bought Levis for years. They are overpriced and overrated, and you can get quality jeans for a whole lot less.
Ayoob's article is absolute gold.
And, yes, I may be older than dirt, but I still wear jeans. Only sweat pants are more comfortable than jeans, and not by that much.
They're still in business? I think the last time I bought a pair of Levi jeans, Reagan was President. And, I don't think I've owned more than two pair total in my life.
...he supports the Right to Bear Arms while at the same time avowing that equal rights aren’t for everybody.
And, of course, he & his like-thinking friends get to decide who gets certain rights, and who doesn't.
Like you, Rebecca, I haven't bought Levi clothing for years. Worth the cost it ain't.
NZ PM announces gun law review - gun shops now swamped with buyers, especially in Christchurch I'm told.
Commandment 4, screw that. I'm not moving.
The place I live is America, I'm not surrendering one damn square mile. There will be no splitting.
I'm with ya! The oath I swore upon enlisting in the Army did not end when I took off the uniform for the last time.
I don't think I've ever owned Levis. These days I wear a brand from Walmart, although I haven't seen it lately. Maybe it's time to go to the internet. Today, I did find pants that were like sweats, but fancier.
I used to wear 501s, button fly and all. I stopped when their fabric seemed to go downhill... it seemed thinner and not nearly as durable. Now I wear Duluth Trading Co. Ballroom Jeans. Not cheap, but they wear well.
