"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Very wise, protect your head first.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wonder who is throwing the ball at him?
ReplyDeleteI mean 'to him'.
I attended my great-grandson's T-ball game the other day. I love the little kids, but it's like watching monkeys try to play the game. Aside from picking at things in the grass, bringing the game to a dead stop while everybody watched a helicopter fly over, forgetting to run after a hit, whirling around and around with the bat after a hit, and demanding to be given the ball that someone else has "caught", my own great-grandson hit the ball and went running around the bases until the ball being thrown back passed him, at which time he started chasing the ball. It's a barrel of laughs, and I recommend it to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI love watching T-ball. Your description is hilarious, and spot on. Who doesn't stop for helicopter fly over?
DeleteWatching a kid hit a ball (if they are lucky), then chase the ball, while coaches and family yell and laugh. The little player freezes while trying to sort out the cacophony. It is a barrel of laughs.
Your great-grandson is fortunate to have his great-grandma there. Wonderfully memories. May you make many barrels full!
Cal is a good name. Wasn't it something else when he was born?
ReplyDeleteCal Worthington was a car dealer in Long Beach Ca when I was a kid. He had some entertaining ads that would go for 5 minutes on Saturdays. He'd walk down a line of cars "Here's a 1971 Dodge station wagon, 1495, come on down!" Then he would bring out a tiger and declare he would eat a bug to make a deal.
Short for "Calintz", the name of a character in some video game. I decline to call him that. His folks have been calling him "Bean" (because he's growing so fast).
ReplyDeleteMr. Worthington sounds like quite the card. I might very well have done a deal in order to see him eat a bug.
