Owning the military base and the rare earths fields make it a good idea. Probably won't happen though.
ReplyDeleteChina has likely already bought Danish politicians just as they do in Australia, offering lucrative chairs in 'research' institutes and other funding to influential people who then spout the Beijing line. See 'Sino-Danish' research and cultural 'exchange' stuff already well established. They play the long game, they've been at this for many years.
ReplyDeleteOur former PM Keating is funded by Beijing for example and spouts Beijing version, but the list of who we know is surprisingly long, suggesting it goes much deeper.
