I think you're probably right. Russian collusion, bashing the press (i.e., "assaulting" the "First Amendment"), lauding white supremacists, mishandling the pandemic - one phony scandal after another. I can just hear Admiral McRaven screaming on the phone to his Democrat buddies: "Guns, bombs, napalm, nothing can stop him!"
