Interesting, but not at all surprising

Who put these guys in charge? Dissolve the Debate Commission or reconstitute it.

The nominally Republican Chairman of Presidential Debate Commission, Frank Fahrenkopf, is both a co-founder and current board member of the International Republican Institute (IRI), a top “Color Revolution” propaganda outfit. The IRI was run by Never Trump neoconservative John McCain for decades. It is closely linked to the thoroughly discredited Steele Dossier at the center of the Russia Hoax.

Update  Of billionaires and their byzantine schemes.  (H/T: JeffS)

Update II  Even Bob Dole admits that the Debate Commission is unfairly stacked against Trump.  Glenn Reynolds makes an extremely important point in the linked post: "One legacy of the Trump era is that just about every single 'nonpartisan' institution has turned out to be politicized and corrupt." Even though I have always maintained what I deem to be a healthy distrust of both official and unofficial political institutions and organizations, the depth and breadth of perfidy and ideological bias everywhere have exceeded my darkest suspicions.

  1. Bob Dole sounds like he stepped out of a time machine from a more normal era.

  2. I just love the way that the President completely destroyed Chris Wallace. There's no coming back from that, he's the new me-again Kelly. Didn't much care for Wallace's pop either, nothing like the idiot son but no great shakes.

  3. Mike Wallace, at least during his 60 Minutes career, was mostly a fraud. His (and his editor's) shabby attempt to "get" General Westmoreland resulted in a law suit that sent Wallace into a very deep depression (and a suicide attempt, as I recall reading somewhere). His main goal in interviews was just to generate angry or nervous reactions on the part of his interviewees - i.e., fireworks for the rubes. He wasn't an investigative reporter in the truest sense, just a professional asshole.
