What, no pork for the masses?

Lots of money from the "stimulus" bill for other countries and the favored domestic classes, but peanuts for the rest of us? Six hundred bucks wouldn't keep Nancy Pelosi in ice cream for a month.

In case it was missed, the piggy fest includes two new museums for the Smithsonian. Maybe one will be the Museum of the Covid. It also includes upgrades to the Kennedy Center...as if it needs it.

Don't forget the $25 mil for Pakistani gender issues. I guess rope and cranes are expensive.

The Washington Pakistan lobby started in the 1950s as part of a global effort to stop the spread of communism by supporting new 'democracies' and prevent Pakistan becoming a Soviet client.

Meanwhile from the 1960s and Indira Gandhi's feud with Nixon, India actully DID become a Soviet client - I remember seeing Soviet engineers at the beach in Orissa in the 1980s, you couldn't miss them. But India never became communist and is as robust a democracy as anywhere. My academic teacher Robert W Stern (PhD Chicago) wrote books about this:
https://www.amazon.com/Democracy-Dictatorship-South-Asia-Bangladesh/dp/0275970418?language=en_US

yet the message is ignored and the lobbyists prevail over the facts. There have been academics doing good fact based work, but no one listens to them. It's like mass hysteria the stuff people want to believe - the narrative.
