It is bad enough that the Left is waging war on truth, but when it declares war on beauty, and begins to dismantle the very concept, then we really are looking at the end times.
Exhibit A? Ella Emhoff, the stepdaughter of Kamala Harris. This young woman was offered a lucrative modeling contract - interestingly, right after her stepmother's usurping partner "won" the election - and is being held up as some kind of redefinition of the beautiful. In my opinion, she looks - and I mean this in the kindliest possible way - like a drug-addicted truck-stop hooker (except that, I imagine, truck stop hookers shave their armpits).
Yes, yes, I know: beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But in today's increasingly totalitarian climate, how long will it be before we are going to be forced to publicly acknowledge this form of "beauty"? Will we even be allowed to say "no comment" and move on?
Update Here is a fine, albeit brief, article on the subject of cultural suicide by Anthony Esolen writing at Crisis Magazine.

Beauty in all its manifestations, or its absence, is the canary in the coal mine. I write on this frequently, but the best recent essay is from Anthony Esolen. https://www.crisismagazine.com/2020/the-suicide-of-a-civilization
A fine article! Thanks.
Back when I was in college, Kamala's step-daughter would have been known as a "six packer", as in, it would take that many beers to develop the beer goggles needed to hit on the wench.
These days, the beta males need no booze at all, thanks to that lost of standards.
Indeed, a very fine article!
Robert Heinlein offered a similar assessment for cultures, but civilizations and cultures are intertwined, so I think it applicable to our current situation:
“A dying culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners, is more significant than is a riot.”
Sadly, that's been the case for quite a while.
I blame Dr Spock Jeff, he told people not to spank their kids.
That's when it all went to heck.
Well, Dr. Spock sure as hell didn't get read in my house, 'cause I got the occasional wallop. Much deserved, I'm bound to say.
She won't give Gina Elise any competition, that's for sure.
