Sacre bleu!

The woke gendarmes are now after Pepé Le Pew - "Looney NY Times Goes Woke on Steroids: Pepé Le Pew ‘Normalized Rape Culture’".

Watch him while you still can. Here's a clip chock full of political incorrectness.

They won't stop. Nothing and nobody is safe from erasure. Tear down the culture, and then they can rebuild their utopian paradise on Earth.

When I was a kid, I thought Pepe LePew was the funniest cartoon around. Nothing could stop me giggling when Pepe pursued a hapless cat, thinking she was another skunk. Not once did rape enter my mind (I was a kid). Today I can see Pepe would be thought of as an annoying stalker, but to me he was basically lovestruck harmless and still funny.

Also, as an afterthought, when the cat firmly resisted Pepe's every enticement, shouldn't that be considered feminine empowerment?

The 1800s suffragettes used to make all sorts of assertions like this.
At least the 1970s feminists knew that a lot of this stuff is not new and women have been debating it for centuries, and the smarter ones realised there had to be a balance between freedom and being protected - some argued from one side and some from the other, and in the 1990s it was at stalemate.

Then a new generation of young women decided they 'want it all, now!', maybe because the spread of cell phones helped them link up into a mob.

How do I know this? A good friend has a PhD in the field. She gave up on academics though because she wanted to help people more directly, so she's a crisis counsellor (yeah, not sure if I approve). She never made an isssue of any 'woke's stuff with me for some reason, in fact she liked debating with me. She even wrote a very high level analytical book about all this - which no one read, I guess because she's too logical, not woke enough.

Pepe is a rapist!
2 and 2 is 4 - that's racist!

Could be the start of a woke cheerleader's chant there.

On the flipside of this, have the woketards starting promoting Enid Blyton's Famous Five? I'm referring specifically to Georgina, who insisted on being called George, cut her hair short, had issues with her father... probably had a few tats and piercings as well.
Or WILL have, in the new revised edition.

And no amount of collateral damage is too much to establish their Utopia.

Isn't it interesting that they are accusing a black cat of normalizing rape culture. (Is Pepe Mulato?)

Now, the wokesters are going after Speedy Gonzalez. Hispanics are saying leave Speedy alone. But you know the wokesters will tell them what they should think.

I'm with you. I loved Pepe as a kid, and still do. As kids we wouldn't have known about rape. Viewing Pepe from an adult prospective still does not bring rape to mind... even if I tried. Can you imagine what dating must be like for the wokesters? (Note: I deleted the previous comment because I didn't realize spellcheck changed wokesters to molesters.)

Btw, didn't Pepe pursue what he thought was a cat, only to have it turn out to be a skunk? I don't remember if, in the end, he didn't care and the skunk warmed to him. Funny stuff.

I like what somebody somewhere said in a Tweet in response to Charles Blow's original idiotic comment: all Pepe LePew taught us was that the French are a$$holes. One of the things that gave me a kick about the Pepe cartoons was the mangled mix of French and English. Who can forget the scene where Pepe is sizing up a potential conquest and says to himself, "Ah, the petite femme skunk fatale!"

I was wondering when they'd get around to Speedy, btw. And wait until the woke brigades stumble across the Disney movie, The Three Caballeros - chock full of Latino stereotypes.

Ted Turner's Cartoon Network ran afoul of Speedy Gonzales maybe two decades ago, but not in the way you think. They withdrew all of his cartoons from broadcast in Hispanic markets, and got inundated in complaints because their beloved hero was being censored.

Yup. Spanish speakers liked Speedy. Sort of like how they hate "Latinx." Seems those uppity people don't like gringos telling them what to think, the ingrates.

Now Pepe will not appear in the new Space Jam movie.

Oops part 2. Of course Pepe is a skunk. Duh! Don't know what I was thinking.
