Or appeasement? "Derek Chauvin Guilty on All Three Charges: 2nd, 3rd Degree Murder; 2nd Degree Manslaughter".

Will we ever know whether the jury reached its decision based on an objective review of the evidence, or whether they sacrificed Chauvin for the "good" of the community (and, incidentally, to avoid being stalked and harassed for the "wrong" verdict)? I'm not even sure how you can be found guilty of all three of these particular charges; it seems to me that it would be one of the three (or not guilty). If there's a legal eagle out there looking in, maybe you can explain it to me.

We are rapidly getting to a point where people - regular citizens, as well as law enforcement personnel - are going to start refusing to submit their fates to the justice system in this country in connection with potentially criminal matters that arise in politically-charged circumstances. Now, I am not in the habit of casually violating the laws of God or man; but should I find myself in a situation where those who would judge me are likely going to let their decisions be influenced by the mob, then it will be a case of catch me if you can.

Update  Naturally, Nancy Pelosi says something idiotic.

That's a travesty.
The only good thing is that cops might figure out that the people who are going to send them after us are not their friends.

It feels in some ways like the OJ Simpson verdict all over again.
I see they even asked OJ his opinion - and how IS the search for your wife's killer going OJ?

Alan Dershowitz called BS on this verdict.

I'd hate to be the judge right now. The mob is rejoicing now, but are keeping their powder dry (so to speak) for the sentencing phase.

I thought the manslaughter charge might stick, not the murder charges. Did or did not George Floyd die of a fentanyl overdose? The jury found guilty on all charges because they were afraid of the mob, and of being hounded for the rest of their lives. But justice moves slowly, so maybe an appeal in a change of venue will at least get the murder charges overturned, if Chauvin isn't murdered in prison first. The whole thing is sickening.

RebeccaH, they were too terrified not to declare them guilty on all counts.
They're absolutely terrified, I bet they're busy moving to new homes right now, leaving no forwarding address.
