RebeccaH, it might be as simple as a guy unsuccessful in dating, who looks to greener pastures. The PI has long been a source of mail order brides, and any Pacific Fleet sailor or Marine who served prior to 1992 can tell tales of the readily available... companionship there. You didn't need to be a high school jock or have a rich daddy to have women competing for your attention. On the other hand, I have known a lot of people who married Filipinas and have had long happy marriages, so it's not like everyone is a bar girl there.
As for the Nevada shooter, he really doesn't fit that profile at all. He was stinking rich and had no need to fly overseas. But nothing about that guy makes sense, and I don't believe for a second that the government really has no idea what he was up to. We have been lied to repeatedly about the Las Vegas shooting.
What is it with these crazy white mass shooters and the Philippines? The Nevada shooter spent a lot of time in the Philippines too.
