Let us not forget any of the fallen. All too often, the ones from early conflicts are not mentioned. So remember the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Mexican-American War, and Cold War.
I have ancestors who have served in every American war since the Revolution. Someone once said to me, "You sure have a militaristic family", and he said it like it was a bad thing. My reply was that I at least had something to be proud of.
'You sure have a militaristic family' and thank God for that. I think I can picture what the guy who told you that looked like - trimmed beard, head tilt, big sad 'empathy' eyes, skinny ...
