Here I am, you brassholes!

"The Pentagon reportedly keeps track of specific internet searches, including the phrase 'the truth about Black Lives Matter.'"

Hmm. Is the Posse Comitatus Act now a dead letter? Not to mention the First Amendment.

It’s not just the Posse Comitatus Act. Domestic surveillance by the military is prohibited by law. That’s a LONG standing fact. DoD is sidestepping federal law (or trying to) by going through a contractor.

(Where have I heard that before ... ... ???)

I remember multiple conversations when I worked for a DoD civilian agency that was festooned with Army officers. More than once, they ordered that I contact a military intelligence unit to get information on our security threats. Pointing out that would be an illegal act on their part, and that rejection of our request was likely, made me no friends. It was always amusing to give them the necessary contact information, and then wait for the deafening silence.

How times have changed.

We can probably count on the development of government-funded "civilian security" and even "paramilitary" organizations in order to skirt the rules - somewhat similar to what we've seen in the past. Then just wait for the Venezuelan-style "citizen militias" (which, with Antifa and BLM, we're already well on the way to being saddled with).

Probably so, Paco, especially at the county and city level.
