So, the Cleveland Indians are now the Cleveland Guardians

Sounds kind of blah.  I was scratching my head, wondering how they came up with this name, when I saw some guy's Tweet in the linked Twitchy post, in which he stated they just replaced "In-" with "Guar". Makes as much sense as anything else, I suppose.

Update Friend and commenter Gregory, in the comments: "I saw that Guardian was the brand name of a prophylactic. They could wear them on their heads instead of helmets.

I know that would make them look like a bunch of... But let's face it. They already are."

Pathetic.
I used to kind of like the Indians, never again.

Relatedly, I do hope the Foreskins change their name to something horse related, I already have the "Geldings" logo made.

Haw! I'd love to see it.

They could have used Cleveland Wokians. An accurate description.

I lost all interest in pro sports many years ago. I used to be a Cardinals fan, but right now I couldn't name one player, or the manager.

Cleveland Grauniads.
The symbol should be a frowning American Indian.
This ticks me off more and more.

When I saw that bit of news, the first thing I thought of was a crew made up of a dimwit in leather pants, a green woman, a walking tree, a scarred-up hulk, and a talking raccoon. Now, watching that crew is kind of entertaining. Baseball woketards, not so much.

Paco, the logo is even lamer.

Rebecca: Great minds! The same imagery occurred to me!

Deborah: It is, indeed.
