Ain't that a beaut?

Friend and commenter R-man spotted this 1936 Packard in Raleigh Star, NC recently and kindly shared it with me (a photo, that is; he didn't actually purchase or steal the car and bring it to me). Love it!

  1. Nice!
    I love wide whitewalls.
I want to put them on my 06 Mustang conv.
    In 2031, when it's a classic, I intend to.

  3. As I mentioned to Paco, the owner's son started the old straight-eight, and it sounded as sweet as it looks. Unfortunately, it was surrounded by other cars (like a 1961 T-bird convertible peeking out in the lower left) and it had a significant gas leak from the sediment bowl, or I would have hinted for a short ride around town. :-)
We were there to check on my brother's 1967 Alfa Duetto Spider that was having some work done to get it road worthy again. It was kinda like visiting a small museum. They had a bunch of old European sports cars in various stages of reconstruction/repair. They were obvious car nuts, and it was a pleasant hour or so of car talk.

BTW, it wasn't in Raleigh, it was in Star, NC. Known for being at the geographical center of the state.

  4. Wide whitewalls on a Mustang? I thought that was a misdemeanor in most states.
