Happy Halloween!

If you're going to go trick-or-treating, don't be hoggish and eat all the candy at once; spread the consumption out over a quarter hour or so.

  1. Happy Halloween, and thanks for the laugh! I'm just happy to be back in Ohio where there are actual trick-or-treaters, instead of that senior citizen Florida morgue we were living in. That said, I do like the Trump/DeSantis 2024 Make America Florida flag. Except for the politics, I don't really want America to be Florida. Florida is dog-unfriendly and too full of cars and old people. And I say that as an old person.

  2. We live in a community that is mostly old folks, too, so I doubt we'll see any trick-or-treaters (we haven't in the three years we've lived here). On the other hand, some of our neighbors are extremely thoughtful, and two have already brought over buckets of goodies. The problem is, as much as I love chocolate, I just can't seem to handle it like I used to.

  3. Happy Halloween to all! After two months eight days in a rehab (not so fun house) for recoving from COVID, I am gladly back home in the quiet of pur country home. We don't see trick or treaters out here. Richard saw a few in Hondo at Walmart.

Did anyone try the glow-in-the-dark M&M? Chocolate Twinkies sound good, but do they ossify as well as the regulars. No matter because chocolate gets anything a pass.

  4. Glad you got back home, Deb. Mrs. Paco was in a rehab joint after her first hip surgery for a week or so and it was the most god-awful time of her life.

    1. Thanks, Paco! Sorry to hear that Mrs. Paco had to undergo the rehab experience. Your assessment of "god-aweful" is correct. The stupidity and meanness is rampant. This is not to say that everything/every staff member fit the description. I banned one young staff member from my side of the room; and I would have terminated another for her cruelty. The disturbing thing is that this facility (as I'm sure was Mrs. Paco's case) is highly regarded. Hope we don't have to rehab ever again.

  5. That sounds about right. Mrs. Paco, who is not given to exaggeration, says that she'd rather die at home than endure another week in a rehab facility.
