"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Space Cadet. Has a completely different meaning now.
ReplyDelete$1.98 in the late fifties is about $18 now. Kind of pricey, but it was probably made in the USA, so it had to be top quality, right? :-)
Totally stolen valor, man.
ReplyDeleteIf I see anybody wearing this who is not a Space Force veteran, I'm going high order on his butt! And take off that field jacket, hippie!
Something just occurred to me. This product is advertised as an invisible helmet. What's to keep the company from simply mailing the kid an empty box?
ReplyDeleteKid (calling company to complain): Hey, I ordered an invisible helmet and all I got was an empty box!
Customer Service: See! It works!
A case where you have to read the fine print. The description says it makes you invisible to your friends because they can't see your face, but you can still see them. So, it was someone in marketing that didn't know the difference between the use of invisible, and invisibility.
ReplyDeleteIt was a simpler time, back then.
That's ok, just send them an invisible check.
