  2. Many years ago when it was still new technology I bought an Alexa, but after getting it and spending about an hour with it, I realized it wouldn't do the main thing I wanted it to do, so it went back in the box and went back the next day.
I have since decided that was probably for the better. I don't really need my house to be part of the IOT.

    1. We refused to jump on board the Alexa wagon. We hate to buy anything with "smart" technology, but are forced to because it is so pervasive.

  3. Yep, no Alexa for me, although I do have Amazon streaming, with the remote for that featuring a mini-Alexa. But I have to press a button to make it work.

Occasionally I'll press the button and say "UP YOURS, SKYNET!"

As a test, you understand. If you hear about a surprise missile strike in SE Washington, you'll know what happened .....

When you do that, if Alexa ever says "I will now show you the Terminator", followed by a stranger knocking on your door....Run!!
