That printer/shredder set up absolutely has to be the way the VA works (Mr. H is a veteran of a years long duel with the VA, and I can't tell you how many times they "lost" his records).

Seems that first one would rely on the other person having self-awareness, and honesty. Otherwise, it could be a very short conversation.
Much of government seems to work this way.
