"Pope Francis Announces Passing Of Final Catholic Pope".
The Vatican has announced the passing of Pope Benedict, the last and final Catholic Pope.
"Pope Benedict will be remembered fondly by those who actually believe that Catholic stuff," said Pope Francis. "I'm not sure exactly who those people are, but I'm deeply sorry for your loss."
At the other end of the spectrum is this obituary by Paul Collitts.
ReplyDelete"Benedict’s scholarly output was immense and profound, and when he wrote for the punters, immensely accessible. His disquisition on the Church Fathers is but one example among many, distilled from some of his Wednesday audiences which typically attracted pilgrims and locals in their tens of thousands. He drew half a million to Randwick Racecourse during the final Mass at World Youth Day in 2008. As someone once said, people flocked to SEE John Paul. In the case of Benedict, they came in droves to HEAR him."

Never a truer word spoken in jest. The current pope has forgotten he is Catholic and is too busy worshipping the false idol of climate change. He is no defender of Catholicism or Christianity. A champion of woke causes instead. He lost me years ago.
ReplyDeleteI think that pretty much sums up Comrade Francis.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you nailed it, mate. Few, if any, good things ever come out of Argentina.
ReplyDeleteGregory: Yes, Benedict was quite the scholar and intellectual, whereas his successor has always been a socialist mark, easily scammed by left-wing orthodoxy.
