"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
Now, now! Don't forget, the adults are in charge.

Once he gets photos of all the journalists harassing him during his 'personal time', he'll have plenty of time to fix all the problems.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the deal with the hard hat?
ReplyDeletePeople there are all blue collar.
Blue collar people wear hard hats.
I need a hard hat!
Whenever our fine betters try to act like Americans, they show their ignorance and stupidity.
What was the deal with the hard hat?
ReplyDeleteHardhats are always worn by government employees in disaster areas, Veehsir. Even when there is no risk of injuries by things falling from high places. Plus, white helmets are supposed to indicate a supervisor of some sort.
Some fellow employees would get out of a car to talk with locals, and put a helmet on before they took a step. Even if there was no construction equipment within miles.
Always bugged me.
With the probable exception of Herbert Hoover, a mining engineer, I think Donald Trump is the only President to have worn a hard hat legitimately, i.e. as part of his job. He's also one of the few to have worked with actual blue collar people.
ReplyDeleteAs a truck driver, I was made to wear a cheapass plastic hardhat and a stupid yellow vest in places where they made no sense. I had a bright orange sweatshirt that I would wear and was told I had to have an even less bright vest on. At International Paper in Springfield Oregon they had a cartoon sign saying "wear the *bullshit*" I drew a Hitler moustache on it.
ReplyDeleteI hate safety.
And while we're at it, it seems that Pete Booty Judge is wrong about white construction workers. They are, in fact, under represented in the industry. Hispanics are over represented... not that I see that as a problem. Work is work, and the more people doing it the better.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Obama stimulus that was supposed to build infrastructure, but feminists complained that far too much of the money was going to "burly men." Their words, not mine. Not only do they hate men, but especially burly ones working in construction.
I worked with a guy in the IG office of my agency back when Clinton (Bill) was president and started the "gubmint should look like america" stuff.. he was a little worried because he said in the IG office jewish men were over represented, he was concerned about a coming pogrom... and from that experience, I've been concerned for years about the over representation of black men in professional sports... maybe some kind of swap could be arranged be arranged between nba, nfl, nhl and baseball to even things out, maybe, put all the players in a single pool and everything evens out?
