Catastrophe in Ohio

Our prayers go up for the health and safety of people in Ohio (and possibly elsewhere) who have been subjected to harmful chemicals from the derailment of a Norfolk Southern Railroad train.

As Tucker Carlson points out, this is one of many strange things happening in the country right now.

Update  Meanwhile, Pete Buttplug, Secretary of Transportation, simply watches helplessly (and seemingly with little or no interest) the various disasters that have befallen sectors of the transportation industry; however, this is only because he is focused on something more important: the fact that there are too many white people working in the construction business.

  1. Well, toxic environmental disasters just happen, you know?

But the scourge of white construction workers is forever.

  2. The real scourge in this country is stupid politicians!

And the voters who vote for them.

  3. Long ago, I determined that is easy to identify leaders" and/or "managers" who were in over their head. Maybe not incompetent (although that was the safe bet), but simply unready for the position they had assumed.

The telltale is that they focus (or even obsess) on a small part of their duties. those which they have some grasp on.

I'm now going to refine that approach by noting that you can tell just how much they are in over their heads. Or, if you like, how incompetent they are.

That new indicator is just how little relationship their current focus has on their actual job.

Such as Mayor Pete "Choo Choo!" Buttplug's non-reaction to this catastrophe. And I don't care if his staff has been shielding him.

  4. My US geography is not great, Paco. The fallout from the Ohio explosion is spreading far and wide - are you likely to be affected?

  5. Gregory: No, Ohio is several states to the the northwest, so I'm assuming no fallout, but you never can tell.

  6. Of course, we won't know how far the danger extends if we have to rely on this incompetent administration.

  7. I expect that the CHEMICAL fallout won't be a problem for you, Paco.

The political fallout, now, that seems to be assured, thanks to Joey Softserve and his virtue signal appointee, Mayor Buttplug.

  8. The chemical fallout is a major problem for that area of northwest Ohio and adjacent southwest Pennsylvania. The real problem is the bolus of toxic sludge that is slowly making its way down the Ohio River. It remains to be seen if it will affect the water supply of the rest of us before it finally disperses, and we will certainly not find out anything from Mayor/Secretary Buttcheeks.

  10. Sorry, northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. The brain is not working very well.

  11. Only time will tell about the impacts to the water supply, Rebecca. God knows the feds haven't a clue.
