"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
You know, the Second Amendment is not unlimited. At the time it was enacted, private citizens could not possess nuclear weapons.
ReplyDeleteThat's right. George Washington could swan around town pulling an ICBM on a wagon because he was the president, but not so your basic Yankee Doodle Dandy.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing about Washington is that he refused to share the launch codes with that disloyal SOB Jefferson.
ReplyDeleteThe District of Columbia has a red flag law, as part of the Firearms Safety Omnibus Amendment Act of 2018, that allows certain individuals to request an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO)
ReplyDeleteWell, the first hurdle is cleared. Now we just need a resident (or residents) of D.C. to "petition the D.C. Superior Court to issue Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs), which requires the temporary removal of firearms and ammunition (and nuclear launch codes, surely) from potentially dangerous persons."
Who can seek an ERPO: Family Members. Guardians.
How about guardians of sanity in the White House? Wouldn't that qualify?
