It's too early for the garden to be in full bloom, but Mrs. Paco and I, humble tillers of the soil that we are, have been doing a lot of preparation.
And as always, some of our favorite plants turn out to be things we've dug up here and there by the side of the road, or on vacant lots. Here, for example, is an Eastern prickly pear cactus that was growing on the island of a roundabout just up the street from our house. I have no idea how it got there - I suppose a bird passed a seed - but we dug this up and put it in our backyard a couple of years ago.
It's nice to see your flora and fauna have been spared the ravages of Globull Warming. And Larry looks to be a master of the camo arts! I hope he's hell on the unwanted creepy-crawlies around the PCC.
ReplyDeleteLarry and his staff favor the popular "Perennial Hibiscus" pattern; it seems to work well for them.
