You always know that the Republicans are going to find a way to let you down

The question is, how will they do it this time?

"Constitutional carry bill fails to advance in North Carolina".

And not because the GOP supermajority in the North Carolina House voted it down. Lawmakers never had the chance to vote on the bill on the House floor after the Republican leadership pulled the bill from consideration ahead of a Thursday crossover deadline.

And this is a priceless piece of dumbassery:

“We have passed a substantial bill dealing with some concerns about (the) Second Amendment. We’ve done away with the pistol purchase permit, which was the No. 1 goal of many of the gun rights groups for a long period of time,” Berger told The News & Observer. “I just don’t know if there’s a need for us to delve into additional issues dealing with guns and people’s Second Amendment rights.”

Right. Why strike while the iron's hot? I mean, whoever heard of doing that?

I'm trying to remember the last time the Democrats took a breather to slow down their attempts to turn this country into a giant sheep pen.

"Winning is not who we are! We're better than this!"

  2. Seems that it would be more economical phrasing if the Republicans just said "We're losers!"

  3. But that wouldn't have that fake noble ring to it.

  4. GOP leadership just doesn't trust GOP voters.
Considering who they vote for, I have to admit the GOP leadership has a point.

  5. Which makes me wonder how GOP leaders got to be leaders in the first place. Or maybe, more to the point, how they managed to cling to their leadership positions, sometimes for many years - like Mitch McConnell, who must be one of the oldest barnacles on the ship of state (and about as useful).

  6. If leadership requires courage and persistence, you've got a leader in Kari Lake.
'Noted polling firm Rasmussen Reports following the high court’s ruling: “Apparently upwards of 300,000 mail ballots in Maricopa County Arizona will now be checked for missing or mismatched signature issues in a race that has captured international attention and is divided by less than 15,000 ‘votes.’ Waiting to see the actual court order.”'

  7. Republican motto: We work hard to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every chance we get!
