In the first place, I don't need any more junk. In the second place, it sounds like a traffic nightmare. Still, I tip my hat to their ambitiousness: "100-mile-long NC yard sale set for later this week; 11th year for 301 Endless Yard Sale".

I've never been an enthusiastic shopper anyway. The last time I bought anything at a yard sale was in Canada in 2001 and it was a small hand-turned wooden bowl that I still use as a yarn bowl. They sold it to me for fifty cents American. The last time I sold anything at a yard sale was the year we moved my mother-in-law out of her house. Made a lot of money for her bank account because she had 80 years worth of some pretty nice stuff. A giant multiple-county yard sale sounds like a nightmare to me. I don't even like flea markets, and we have two giant ones near here.
ReplyDeleteI like yard sales. I have too much junk though.
ReplyDeleteThe question is, "do you have a big enough yard to sell the junk?" Besides, it doesn't have to be a one weekend sale. Don't forget to put up a canopy, a chair, a cooler, and plenty of sunscreen. Good luck!
DeleteI tried it once.
DeleteUntil I realized I was about to yell at people to keep their hands off my stuff.
It's usually stolen or I give it away when I move.
I would need to have a yard sale first to get rid of junk I don't need, to make room for more junk I don't need.
ReplyDeleteSo, no thanks.
I like yard sales, but local, small affairs. That's where I found the old Philco radio cabinet that I converted into a book case.
ReplyDeleteThere's a 100 mile yard sale here in south Texas.
ReplyDeleteI bet that 100 mile long one has turned into a flea market with pros instead of a bunch of folks cleaning out the garage.
