I'm a couple of days late with this, but Treat Williams died recently after a motorcycle accident.
I haven't seem many of the films and TV episodes for which he has been celebrated in the press, but I will forever remember his outstanding performance as a narcotics detective in the 1981 film Prince of the City. One of the best cop flicks I've ever seen, I particularly relish the fact that two of the most repellant characters in the movie are prosecutors. He also shone as the cheerful, psychopathic villain in the underrated action/adventure movie, The Phantom (1991).
God rest his soul and comfort his family, friends and fans.
Too bad.
ReplyDeleteI first saw him in Hair, I like that movie, my cousin and I saw it 4 or so times in a week, back in '79.
He was good in it.
I also saw him in Smooth Talk, my girlfriend took me to it.
He was pretty good in that too.
I don't think many people saw that movie.
I never watched any other movie he was in, start to finish at least.
