"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
My mother told me about the Pepsi ads... she once sang me the jingle:
ReplyDelete"Pepsi-Cola hits the spot
Twelve whole ounces, that's a lot!
Every serving that you pour
Costs a nickel, not a penny more!"
Kooba Cola. Heh!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what became of Fox. Word gets around in businesses, even back then.
Too bad. It might have been a big seller in Kooba...I mean, Cuba.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the Spider Queen puts the OOBA! into Kooba.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, I'd occasionally take a huge burlap sack and walk along the roads picking up discarded soda bottles. I think they paid out at 2 cents on the bottle (5 cents for the big ones).
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid in Texas, the big sellers were Coca Cola and RC, followed by Nehi (which offered a chocolate drink as well as the soda). We called all of it "coke". There was Dr. Pepper too, but it was always called Dr. Pepper because it was a Waco, Texas thing. We also had root beer, but I don't think I ever saw it associated with A&W until I was an adult and went north.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Big Red?
