Obama was not just a bad president...

...he is quite possibly the strangest man ever to occupy the White House: "The Obama Factor" (my suggestion for a flippant subtitle: "Sheila Dodges a Bullet").

The linked piece features a short article by David Samuels, and an interview with David Garrow, the author of Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama. One can quibble with this or that assertion or interpretation, but both Samuels and Garrow - whom I take to be progressives of one kind or another - do not shy away from highlighting Obama's essential hollowness, narcissism and, for want of a better term, overarching weirdness.

This story does demonstrate how even at an early age Obama was obsessed with crafting his own origin story. I have always been bemused, not only by this act of supreme narcissism by Obama, but hy the enthusiastic support the media gave him in doing so.

Just weird. It's like everyone in the DNC/media got the same brainworm.

  2. Spawn of a drunken Communist from Kenya and a white mother who didn't like white men (thanks to her upbringing by uber liberal socialist grandparents who ended up being saddled with him after her death). Partial upbringing in a Muslim country with no exposure to Christianity or secular American values until after the age when it would have made a difference. A relationship with a father figure (Soetoro) who might have been a good father, but got discarded for his capitalist views (despite his dark skin). Young education and relationships with various Communist and Palestinian mentors. Getting dumped on said socialist grandparents upon mom's death (who nevertheless made book by being capitalists, especially bank official grandma). Passing through various university programs rife with lounge faculty Marxists and not himself having to produce anything of substance. Beginning a political career by aligning himself with racialist black shakedown activists in Chicago, and blatant 60s style anti-Americans like William Ayres and his loathsome cohort. And in the end, presenting his conman mellifluous voice and articulate, clean, and bright self to Democrat operatives as a pathway to power using America's ultimately naive hope that he would finally end its black/white divide, which of course, he had no skill or desire to do. Weird? How could he not be?

    Have I left anything out?
