Upchuck Schumer discarded the ages-old Senate dress code in order to make allowances for one incurable slob: "Democrats and Bum Outfits".
Schumer's decision was ultimately overruled by a full Senate vote. So, presumably, Fetterman will have to ditch what appear to be FedEx togs and head down to the local Big and Tall Men's shop and buy some suits.
Personally, I believe legislators should dress in a way that conveys the dignity of the office and the respect and deference to which they are entitled.
I'm glad the Senate showed a little bit of common sense and decorum in overruling Chucky's fashion diktat. My guess is, Fetterslob will just vote in absentia and never show up for work at all. His staff is doing all the work anyway, par for the course in Congress.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats don't have respect for the Founders and what they achieved, therefore why should we expect them to behave differently. They believe they are entiled to their office. I think Rand Paul's
ReplyDeletebathrobe demonstrationa was a wake-up for Schumer.
How will Fetterman dress for Diane Feinstein's big sendoff. Dress basketball shorts and a dress hoodie.
