A good article, making very valid points. Models are VASTLY overrated; I have some training and experience with them. And with the people who often abuse them.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, modeling is what concerned me the most early on in the COVID fiasco, when I could find no information on how the models "reporting" on infection trends were being updated based on real world data.
Because, as I eventually realized, they weren't being updated, which made them inaccurate as hell. A conclusion that was confirmed when forecasted hospitalization rates were incredibly higher than actual rate.
Global worming models are always wrong.

They can't even predict what happened in the past.
This is why I usually view these kinds of things anymore with the attitude of "Oh look, more research/another study".
