Out of the shock and death and horror of the Hamas attack, comes this story of inspiring heroism

A young woman's quick thinking and action turns her kibbutz into a death trap for terrorists: "25-Year-Old Israeli Woman Kills 5 Terrorists, Leads Team to Save Kibbutz from Hamas".

  1. Applause. She is indeed a hero.

Somewhat on topic ... ... the Israeli government needs to drop all restrictions on the private ownership of firearms.

100 rounds of ammo per person? Really?

  2. Note that she had access to firearms and ammo... as the security manager for the kibbutz, she in fact had an armory to open and distribute to her security team.

Good thing ordinary Israeli citizens don't have such things. Also, good thing ordinary citizens in MA or CA don't either. My own state, WA, used to be 2A friendly but now has laws essentially mirroring CA's. But rumor has it that a few citizens might still possibly have some relic accoutrements from the pre-ban era.

As for myself I can neither confirm nor deny.

  3. Stephen: I'm sure you're being a responsible citizen, and only carrying a police whistle and some bear spray.

Oddly enough, I've heard the same rumors myself, Stephen. In WA and OR, for that matter. Hmmmmm!

  6. One quibble I have: Ms. Lieberman had to take time to open the armory and distribute weapons. There shouldn't even have been an armory except as a backup. Every family should have had their own weapons right at hand. Maybe Israel will wake up and consider that for the next time (unless Hamas is justifiably wiped out root and branch).
