"The crime rate here is intolerable! We just have to vote Democrat harder!"

The progressive narrative is more important to them than anything: more important than the truth, their property and, ultimately, their lives. "D.C. Residents Fear Crime Surge Turning Area into U.S. War Zone". I wonder if the lack of prosecutorial zeal had anything to do with this spike in crime.

Crime soared in 2022 after U.S. Attorney for D.C. Matthew Graves refused to prosecute 67 percent of those arrested. In turn, 222 criminal homicides occurred in 2023, a 35 percent increase from the same period in 2022, according to police statistics.

Why doesn't the government just send in the Marines, like it did in Haiti for 19 years in the early 20th century? Oh, right...the Posse Comitatus Act. Well, how about this: have the regular police just arrest lawbreakers and put them in jail.

"What a stupid idea!"

Here's Volume I of Things Mitt Romney Doesn't Know, But Ought To.

  1. If the law were evenly applied in D. C., Mad Maxine would be in jail. As for Romney, if he claims not to know something everybody else knew, he's either a blatant liar or an incompetent fool. Or both.

  2. Oh. Mai. GAWD!!!!

Did you just pounce? I'm pretty sure that was a pounce, you deplorable! See, that's the worst thing about rampant crime in the cities, is Republicans pouncing! Just as it is for the border... and the economy... and the decline of the US military... and the catastrophe of public education... and the state of higher education... and idiotic corporate malfeasance... and government partnership with Big Tech to censor...

Pounce, pounce, pounce! Damn it, stop pouncing! That's what's creating all of these problems!

Ummm... not that we actually have any actual problems. Because we don't. The only problem facing America is pouncing.

  3. Rebecca, from this distance I think Romney is a fool. He lives in a kind of Disneyland fantasy and takes way too much for granted.

Because of this he is certainly incompetent to deal with the real world beyond his power. The world he has been shielded from all his life.

3 years as an American missionary in France in the 1960s does not count as the real world. A stint in the military might have given him a dose of reality, but he avoided that.

  5. Ah, Paco, you have no idea how it saddens me to say this, but:

This is not who we are. Be better, Paco. Be better.
