Well, the House has a new Speaker

Not sure how much difference this will make, but, apparently, McCarthy tried to torpedo him and I read somewhere that AOC and Adam Schiff-for-brains dislike him, so those are marks in Mike Johnson's favor: "Rep. Mike Johnson Elected Speaker of the House with Unanimous GOP Support".

  1. My breath I am not holding. I am waiting to see what happens.

My litmus test is to see if the House GOP caucus snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

    Again.

  2. Yeah, I agree. We'll just have to wait and see who else doesn't like him. AOC and Schitt-head is a good endorsement.

  3. Jeff, don't you mean how they snatch defeat?
    Not that it matters.
The only suspense now is what happens when the interest on our debt is more than taxes take in.
Which could happen next week the way they're spending.

  4. The usual suspects all hate him.

Big whoop. They hate everybody. Maybe even themselves (not really kidding - has it occurred to anybody that much of progressivism can be explained by self loathing?). Every Republican is the Second Coming of Hitler. Once he's gone he can be rehabilitated... note the Strange New Respect the left has for Mitt Romney, who was going to re-enslave blacks back in 2012. But now he's a revered elder statesman - to the left.

Then again, these people, including Joe Biden, all rushed to give glowing eulogies to Senator Robert Byrd, former Klansman.
