I forget what I was reading, but it was reporting on the capture of these guys after some sort of scuffle.
ReplyDeleteIt referred to them as "hostages," interesting choice of words. Enemy combatants taken as prisoners of war is more accurate, but...
Captured enemy combatants is a better term, because Hamas is not a nation, it's a "political" organization. If they were Iranians engaged in combat, those would be legitimate prisoners of war. These guys, who obviously didn't want to be martyrs for Allah after all, should be put in orange jumpsuits and put on a chain gang and made to rebuild all the destroyed infrastructure in Gaza (except for the tunnels, of course). Maybe that'll work some of the fat off them.
ReplyDeleteThey are actually criminals, under international law. And the laws of civilized nations ... ... which excludes those nations which ignore their own laws.
ReplyDeleteUnder the Geneva Convention, those terrorist scum have no standing. Israel is treating better than they deserve; a trench is a reasonable destination.
Stripping them down to their shorts, and making them sit on the ground is supposed to be a serious humiliation around the Mediterranean. Works for me.
