One of the most contemptible moral shortcomings...

...is ingratitude: "Taylor Swift Has Yet to Acknowledge Death of Toby Keith, Who Jumpstarted Her Career".

Perhaps miraculously, I don't believe I've ever heard a tune warbled by this particular songbird - and yet, I don't feel the least bit deprived.

  1. I haven't heard her sing, either, Paco. Or, if I did, it went in one ear and out the other. And the celebrities of today tend to live in a bubble, focused on themselves. Suicide by narcissism, maybe?

I find most popular music today to be vapid, if it isn't an old song performed by a new band. There are exceptions, but it's painful to sort the wheat from the chaff.

  2. I don't know what her music sounds like, either, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't recognize her photo without a caption. But I am heartily sick of hearing about her. She's become the latest Harry-and-Meghan annoyance.

  3. I'm sure I've heard her music, just because that's the nature of pop stars - they're ubiquitous. But I did not recognize it.

Her image, however, I recognize instantly only because it too is ubiquitous. She is literally everywhere. Well, hold on, I didn't see her in that Sig ad posted above.

  4. I haven't watched the Grammys this century and don't know much about Miss Swift but my wife encouraged me to watch a clip from the latest Grammys with the wonderful Tracy Chapman singing Fast Car with Luke Coombs. Very emotive performace. So in the the front row of the audience was Swifty standing up dancing and singing and seemingly trying to grab some of that precious camera time off of Tracy Chapman. My first impression of her was that she is a tool.

Yeah, that was my first impression, too. And my second, third, fourth, and most recent.
