If he had any sense - obviously he doesn't - he wouldn't want to be seen in the same city as this weepy drunken has-been: "Mike Johnson Teams with Ousted Speaker and Conservative Nemesis John Boehner for High-Dollar Fundraiser".
Boehner was, as you will recall, one of the most useless excuses for a Republican, let alone a speaker, in the last 30 years. An utterly stupid, petty character who had no discernible principles at all, and the absolute weakest of all possible reeds to set against the increasingly totalitarian aims of a united and belligerent Democratic Party. Nobody - nobody - is going to burnish his political street cred by appearing with this man for any reason whatsoever.
Whilst reading this, Paco, and for some odd reason, I was reminded of this video clip ....

I can't for the life of me imagine why.
Looks good to me!
ReplyDeleteWell, you know, birds of a feather.
ReplyDeleteI bet they had a good cry.
ReplyDeleteI bet they had a good cry.
ReplyDeleteHaw!
I'm going to mention another name: Jim Jordan. From this distance he seems to have all the required qualities for Speaker. But I've seen a lot of negative opinions, that he's mostly just talk. What the feeling about him here?
ReplyDeleteDC is lost, it doesn't matter which fool they install.
ReplyDeleteThe last decent GOP leader in Congress was Newt in the 90s.
Gregory: I think Jordan's heart is in the right place, but his endless hearings don't seem to result in anything concrete. One of the problems Republicans face - and it's a big problem - is that the Democrat regime can pretty much ignore the House's subpoena power, and refuse to take actions suggested by the House, because the Department of Justice under the hyper-partisan AG simply refuses to back the House up. This is a huge scandal, and one that has given us our present two-tiered justice system.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reply, Paco.
ReplyDeleteI guess we can only hope Trump includes Jordan in his cabinet and he gets the power to do something solid.
