This scene from Zulu affords a pretty good idea as to why I'm supporting Trump for the presidency.
My support is not much more complicated than that. When it comes to facing off against the Left with some chance of success: Trump's here. Nobody else. Just him.
While the depiction of Color Sergeant Bourne was excellent, the real life Bourne was one of the youngest NCOs in the British Army at the time. I think he was only 24 at the time depicted.
ReplyDeleteAfter that action he was offered a commission but declined, believing that he didn't have the financial standing required to be an officer. Years later he did accept one, and retired after WW1 as a Lt. Colonel.
I always wondered why he wasn't awarded the VC, and I think I read somewhere that it was because they offered him a commission, instead. To eventually progress from Colour Sergeant to Lt. Colonel indicates that he was one hell of a soldier.
ReplyDeleteAbraham Lincoln, when asked why he picked U.S. Grant to lead his army, said: "He fights!"
ReplyDeleteThat's also why I'll vote for Donald Trump.
The movie had more than one historical inaccuracy. For example, Hook was depicted as a goldbricking slob -- in real life, he was also one hell of a soldier.
ReplyDeleteBut the sentiment of your post, Paco, is mine as well. FIGHT!
Even as depicted in the movie, Hook turned out to be one hell of a soldier.
