Y'all need to learn to eat those bugs raw

"Californians told to stop grilling food to help improve air quality after spike in pollution".

  1. Toxic air pollution levels in the US are at the worst levels in the last 25 years, according to the American Lung Association (ALA).

They don't know what toxic air pollution is. I remember being five years old, walking down a downtown street with my parents and almost choking to death on fumes from the cars going by. That was in the early 50s.

  2. Rebecca, while I was in Kuwait, the first time I went to the Port of Ash Shuaybah, my sinuses literally closed up when I entered the gate. I almost choked.

And for those who don't know ... ... the Port of Ash Shuaybah is the only practical sea port in Kuwait. EVERYTHING goes through it, in and out.

By out, I mean all oil and oil by products. All their refineries are there. And there is (was?) ZERO pollution control. The good citizens of that fair nation* are fortunate in that the prevailing winds are from the west, so the air pollution goes out to sea.

And don't get me started on the water pollution. SMH. The overall pollution was bad enough that the exit survey for troops had questions if you were assigned duties there, and for how long.

That said ... ... those measures dictated by the state of Kalifornia are meaningless. I've been in fire smoke so think that you literally couldn't see for a city block.

    It's fear mongering, nothing less.

With the added benefit of starting to wean the comrades off of eating red meat.

So not only do I gotta eat bugs, but I gotta eat them cold?

Amazes me that so many people actually vote for this crap. Free sh!t sandwiches for everybody! Yay! And by "free," I mean everybody who has an income pays for everybody else.

  5. Anyone remember Tim Buckley's LP, 'Greetings From LA' with a cover pic of a thick red haze down in the LA Basin, and Tim with a gas mask on the back?

1972. That was our party music that year.

  6. Tip: Next time you buy a California roll, make sure you inspect the ingredients.
