"There are countless horrible things happening all over the world and horrible people prospering, but we must never allow them to disturb our equanimity or deflect us from our sacred duty to sabotage and annoy them whenever possible." -Auberon Waugh
I love throwing a bunch of whatever in with a starch.
ReplyDeleteRice might be the most versatile for that, potatoes and pasta aren't quite as versatile.
I make lots of weird stuff with it and then douse it in Frank's Red Hot.
I agree. You can mix practically anything with rice. It's pretty much a staple in our house. Mrs. Paco, through experimentation, even discovered Grandma Paco's secret recipe of rice cooked in milk. So delicious with a beef gravy!
DeleteRice cooked in milk? Interesting.
DeleteI'll have to try that.
Instead of water or mixed with water?
And just about anything is delicious with beef gravy.
My favorite breakfast is a scrambled egg mixed with chopped ham, sharp cheddar bits, and mixed vegetables (peas, corn, chopped carrots, onions, tomatoes, and peppers), all wrapped in a soft tortilla, and yes, sprinkled with Red Hot.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I also like dirty rice and jambalaya.
DeleteI do something like that, except it's bacon and homefries, not ham and rice.
DeleteMmmmmmm mmmm.
Just had some Bojangles dirty rice this afternoon (and a steak biscuit). Now that's comfort food!
ReplyDeleteOf course, tomorrow I'll be paying the piper with a total fasting day.
