The good people at Blogger have seen fit to remove my post which linked an article about JB Pritzker mulling over a run for the presidency. I have, it seems...checks notes..."violated community standards on hate speech".
So, what caused some censor to clutch his or her pearls? Was it my comment that the governor is not exactly svelte? Was it my observation that he, indisputably, supports some of the wilder flights of fancy manifested by the cultural avant garde? Was it because I opined that he was not a saintly man, and that he should be gifted with boxes of donuts? Was that last - an obvious joke, or so I would have thought - judged to be in incitement to commit violence?
I have been cautioned that my blog could be taken down if there are future infractions. In view of that possibility, I invite you to go to my personal profile and save my contact information so that I can communicate with you individually should it become necessary for me to set up shop elsewhere.
So, one day, when you search and do not find the blog, know in advance that it was not I who took it down, but the anonymous censors who prefer to silence rather than engage.
Maybe Tillis called them up.
ReplyDeleteWill no one rid me of this pesky blogger?
That would be hilarious, if true.
Delete"I QUESTION THE TIMING!"
I recall that my response to that post was pretty harsh, and probably uncalled for, so I apologize if it contributed to Blogger’s pique.
ReplyDeleteI don't recollect your comment, but, if I had to guess, I'd say it was my comment linking Pritzker to funding transgender policies - which is indisputable, incidentally - and my opinion of same. I plan to write blogger and request a precise explanation.
DeleteBlogger and Blogspot are owned by Google, who also owns Youtube. Which has a reputation for removing content it finds offensive. I'm pretty sure I'm on the blacklist there - there have been comments I can see when I'm logged in, but not when logged out.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, run the article again, as much as you can remember, but swap Pritzker's name for Trump. Somehow I think that will sail through the filters without any hiccups.
I think that is an excellent idea.
DeleteYour blog isn't captured much on the WayBack archive; it seems to be random.
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, I can't find your earlier version.
