I found another picture of the two Superbirds in their natural habitat.
This really puts me back in May of 1975: a pleasantly warm day, dogwoods in bloom, the smell of pine needles, and not a worry in the world.
Interestingly, years later - after the Superbirds and the house had been sold, and I had gotten married and moved to Miami - Mrs. Paco and I returned to near-by Raleigh to visit her parents, who were then still living there. We drove through the old neighborhood in Cary just to see what it looked like (I had not seen it in something like a decade) and what did I see parked in the driveway? An orange Superbird. To put it mildly, I was astonished.
